"This is the reason scrooms are always taken"

This class is a Super Class variant of the Alchemist sub-class.

Description

Botanist is a neutral mage superclass, and the preceding class of Druid.

Botanists expand on their knowledge of alchemy. Their mastery over magic and alchemy allows them to take full advantage over their talents.

How to Obtain Botanist

  1. Max the Scholar Base Class.
  2. Be Neutral. (1 Chaotic, 0 Alignment, or 1 Orderly.)
  3. Have 1 Alchemist skill for the first two skills
  4. Have 2 Alchemist skills for the third skill.
  5. Go to Flowerlight and talk to Tlachta.
  6. Pay her 100 Silver for each skill (300 Silver Total)

Abilities

Actives

  • Fons Vitae (70 - 100%) - Summons a Cauldron out of the earth which disappears after a certain amount of time.
  • Verdien (70 - 100%) - Chance to spawn nearby ingredients. 25 Second Cooldown.
    • An ingredient's spawn chance is determined by their rarity. Scrooms will likely spawn while Desert Mists will spawn rarely.
  • Life Sense - Allows you to see other players, humanoid monsters, npcs and Potion Ingredients through walls.
    • Does not work in Khei or Private Servers.

LifeSenseKasp

A Kasparan being seen through life sense. Notice how he has different hitboxes for his horns?

Notes

  • Life Sense is one of the shorter "Pulses" there is, as it is shorter than Dzin's "World Pulse" and Raullan's "Gudriba's Eye".
  • Life Sense can't be used to mana shield
  • Life pulse stacks with Dzin's world pulse increasing the range of life pulse.
  • Fons Vitae's potion failure explosion can damage and disarm others.

Strengths

  • Low budget money printer: Very good for farming Silver.
  • Easily obtainable: Is easy to get, allowing quick access to godspells.
  • Easy to do some orderly quests such as Liquid Wisdom and Ice Protection.
  • ESP: Life Sense can save you from the pain of fighting strong people, and also you might be able to tell what class/race they are (Examples: Kasparans have horns on their hitboxes, if someone has a thicker arm hitbox, they're probably a Shinobi etc).
  • Neutrality: Being neutral makes you not a target for Jails or Assassinations. (Still vulnerable to grips).
  • ESP's stacks: Life's Pulse range can increase with Dzin's "World's Pulse".
  • Timed Bomb: Some plants are explosive and when combined with Fons Vitae you can set up traps by using the plants in the cauldron and pressing the spoon (Use mana shield to not get hit).

Weaknesses

  • No offensive moves: No offensive/defensive moves from the class itself, making you rely on scrolls. (not true, Fons Vitae bombs work fine, although they do require some setup.)
  • FPS hungry: For people who have a lower-end pc. Life Sense can make you extremely laggy.
  • Money printer: Druids/botanists usually have a lot of silver on them, making you a possible target.

Good Races to Go

Scroom - Free poison resistance (you can pay less), extra poison damage, and you can go Metascroom for extra defense.

Kasparan - Slash res and free ignis. While slash res is good against all sorts of classes, you can also get evamp for extra buffs (be sure to keep yourself from having too much chaotic so you can get Druid).

Castellan/Rigan - See Illusionist.
